Do your products contain chemicals?
We take being chemical-free very seriously. None of our products contain ingredients that could be harmful to your dog, to you, or to the environment.
Are your products tested on animals?
We respect animals and strongly oppose all forms of animal testing.
That’s why all of our raw materials are cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
How do you test your products then?
I personally test every product on myself first
(Magyari Detti – founder, canine herbalist).
I have very sensitive skin, and if it comes into contact with chemicals or unsuitable cosmetics, irritation appears immediately.
So far, none of our products have caused any issues – in fact, I still use several of them on myself on a daily basis.
SHAMPOO & SOAP
How often can I use My Bulldog Shampoo or My Bulldog Soap on my dog?
Although frequent bathing is generally not recommended, in some cases it may be unavoidable.
There’s no need to worry though – both our shampoo and soap are free from chemicals, skin irritants and synthetic foaming agents. They do not dry out the skin or damage its structure.
If needed, you can even bathe your dog once a week.
I can’t decide – which shampoo should I choose?
The two My Bulldog Shampoos differ only in their essential oils; the base formula is the same.
We use only essential oils from certified organic farming, derived from plants with therapeutic properties.
- If your dog has no skin issues or allergies, simply choose the scent you prefer.
- If your dog has sensitive skin and/or allergies, we recommend starting with the lemon balm shampoo, which also contains sage with wound-healing and anti-inflammatory properties.
- The lavender shampoo is recommended for dandruff, as lavender helps restore the skin’s natural oil balance and reduces itching caused by dry, flaky skin.
The shampoo is suitable for all coat types.
What’s the difference with My Bulldog Soap?
The soap differs more significantly in composition:
-
Lavender soap contains white clay and whole lavender flowers, making it ideal for inflamed, itchy or burning skin.
-
Lemon balm soap is recommended for dandruff, dull coats and allergic dogs.
We generally recommend the soap for dogs with short to medium-length coats.
My dog has allergies – will your shampoo or soap cause any problems?
We never compromise on ingredient quality.
Our products contain no chemicals that could worsen allergic reactions.
Many allergic dogs already use our shampoo and soap with great results, and all feedback has been positive. We are confident it will work well for your dog too.
If my dog isn’t a bulldog, can I still use these products?
Absolutely.
The shampoo can be used on all coat types. For long-haired dogs, no conditioner is needed afterwards, as wheat germ protein makes the coat easy to comb.
The soap is recommended for short to medium-length coats, as its high oil content may weigh down very fine, hair-like fur.
Can these products be used on puppies?
Yes.
They can be used from a very young age – even right after bringing your puppy home from the breeder or shelter. We also confidently recommend our other products for puppies.
PAW & NOSE CARE
Which product should I choose for a dry nose?
Unrefined shea butter with jojoba oil.
This balm melts easily and softens dry skin. For very dry noses, we recommend applying it at least twice daily.
Which product should I choose for dry paws?
Unrefined cocoa butter containing real calendula and chamomile, which help prevent inflammation and redness.
Cocoa butter is firmer, so it’s best applied in a thin layer in the evening, when you’re no longer going out for walks.
In winter, it’s also recommended to apply it before walks to create a protective barrier against road salt and slush.
Is it a problem if my dog licks the nose or paw balm?
Not at all.
Both balms are made from food-grade oils and herbs, with the addition of organic vitamin E to keep them fresh. None of the ingredients are harmful if licked – although they work best if they stay on the nose and paws 😊
TONIC
Which areas can I use the tonic on?
Our tonic is very versatile and owes its effectiveness to certified medicinal sage. It can be used for:
- Cleaning and caring for the eye area
- Reducing redness around the eyes
- Lightening tear stains
- Soothing red, itchy paws
- Caring for moist tail folds
- Relieving rashes, especially on the belly of allergic dogs
- Cleaning the ears (externally only, using a cotton pad)
- Caring for sensitive skin folds
SPRAY
When can I use it?
Use it between baths.
Lavender, lemon balm and sage give your dog’s coat a fresh scent and help neutralise unpleasant odours.
You can also spray your dog’s bed and let it air out for a few minutes, or use it on car upholstery to remove dog smells.
Does it repel ticks or mosquitoes?
Ticks and mosquitoes can transmit serious diseases, so it’s important to always use veterinarian-recommended active protection.
As a complementary solution, many owners use our spray, as the essential oils it contains have traditionally been used against blood-sucking insects for centuries.
COOLER
How should I use it and what is it for?
The Cooler is a cooling gel designed mainly for hot summer days.
Apply it to the ears, belly, paws and other areas with less fur. Mint stimulates the receptors responsible for the sensation of coolness, while organic aloe vera provides longer-lasting cooling through slow evaporation.
Is it only effective in summer?
No.
Thanks to aloe vera, it can also be used in winter to soothe red, irritated paws. It calms the skin and quickly relieves burning sensations.
